I reviewed Dengue Fever Presents: Electric Cambodia for Vol. 1 Brooklyn
More than a record review, I used this opportunity to convey a brief history of Cambodia's great rock n' roll scene in the 1960s through 1975. It's a chapter in pop music history that's very close to my heart.

This show quickly became notorious after hysterical allegations of wild hipsters desecrating arose following the show. I wrote an article for Vice that helped clarify exactly what happened that night (or maybe not). Read THE BEETS ARE GOING TO HELL over at Vice.
In any event: this church was a spectacular environment to perform live visuals in.
